Research Panel demo

For universities and their alumni

Alumni give time, not money.

Members pledge a few hours of survey time a year. Researchers describe who they need. The panel matches, invites, protects members from over-contact, and returns anonymised data. Each completed response can send a few dollars to a charity the member chose, paid from the researcher’s grant.

Members

Join, describe your work in a two-minute profile, and pledge 60, 120, 240 minutes a year. At most 3 invitations a month, each one explains why you were picked, and you can pause or leave any time.

Researchers

Describe who you need and how long it takes. See at once whether the panel can deliver. Keep using your own survey tool; the panel invites, tracks completion and gives you an anonymised export. No analysis, no access to identities.

The alumni office

Own the panel, the brand and the charity list. Approve every study against an ethics checklist. See every minute and every dollar accounted for, with a monthly statement for finance.

How a study runs

  1. Step 1
    Submit

A researcher describes the study: who, how many, how long, and the survey link. The office approves it.

  2. Step 2
    Match

Each morning the matcher sizes a wave from the eligible pool, honouring caps and cool-downs, and sends invitations.

  3. Step 3
    Take part

A member reads the information sheet, clicks Start, and completes the survey in the researcher's own tool.

  4. Step 4
    Account

The planned minutes are debited from the pledge, the charity donation is recorded against the grant, and the export is anonymised.

Built-in protections

  • No more than 3 invitations in any 30 days, with a 7-day rest after each and 14 days after a completion.
  • Invitations close after 10 days; three ignored in a row pauses a member automatically.
  • Researchers see counts only, never fewer than 5 in any cell, and never a name, email or charity choice.
  • Planned minutes are what is debited, so a long survey costs the researcher goodwill, not the member extra time.

Charity donations, fully accounted

A researcher may attach a fixed donation per completed response, between $2 and $20, charged to a cost code with a budget cap. Members pick their charity from the office’s list. Finance receives a monthly statement by charity and by cost code; the institution is the donor of record.
